Why we recommend Tunime
Tunime earns a recommendation for its focus on delivering an anime streaming experience as a PWA. It provides a dedicated web application for viewing, which can be installed on various operating systems including Android, iOS, Windows, macOS, and Linux, as stated on its landing page. Key features include a proprietary player, the ability to create anime collections (both private and public), and direct synchronization with Shikimori for managing watch lists and profiles. The application also supports joint viewing in rooms and offers recommendations from other users, enhancing the social aspect of anime consumption. It aims to provide a seamless app-like experience directly from the browser.
Best use cases
Best for: Anime enthusiasts looking for a dedicated web application for streaming that can be installed on their device for a more integrated experience. Users who utilize Shikimori for tracking their anime will benefit from the direct synchronization feature. It's also suitable for groups wanting to watch anime together through its joint viewing rooms, or individuals who enjoy discovering new content via user recommendations and curated collections.
Honest limitations
While described as a PWA, the provided service worker evidence is false, which means it may not fully support advanced offline capabilities or robust caching often associated with PWAs. The description mentions 'Офлайн-загрузка серий' (offline downloading of series), however, without a service worker, this specific functionality cannot be directly verified through the manifest or service worker evidence provided. It is not for users seeking a native application experience with deep system integrations beyond PWA capabilities.
