Why the studio survives a lost connection
Paper Critters is a Progressive Web App. The browser stores the application itself the first time you visit — the code, the shapes, the stickers — and loads that stored copy afterwards. That is why it opens instantly, and why it opens at all when you are offline.
The decorating you do stays on your machine rather than on a server, which is the same reason it does not need the network to remember where you were.
